Fran Richardson

( Watercolors )

Painting since an early age, Fran’s formal training began at the Silvermine College of Art in New Canaan, Connecticut, in commercial art.  Fran studied under renowned watercolorists Fred and Eileen Whitaker, alumnus of the National Academy of Design in New York City, and had eight years of professional instruction with Paul and Carolyn Berry of Skylark Studios in Manlius, New York.  In addition, Fran has participated in many workshops and classes with advanced studies to enhance her skills in watercolors and watercolor portraits.

Fran’s paintings have been showcased at various galleries and art shows.  She has won several “honorable mentions” as well as a second place at The Visual Art Center, Punta Gorda.  Several years ago Fran was honored to have a one- woman show to benefit The Heritage Foundation in upstate New York.  Her work is owned by both corporate and private clients.

Fran truly loves watercolors and the way the paints ebb and flow allowing almost a mystical quality to guide her through the painting process.  Her subjects are varied and she is always open to new methods, approaches, and techniques.
